Youth bows - Advice?
      #381017 - 07/08/09 12:31 PM

My (nearly) 10-year old son just came back from camp and had a blast with their archery range...I was thinking of lining him up with a decent starter bow, something that he might be able to grow with for a couple of years.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to school kids in archery? I have been working with him on the rifle and shotgun end of things, so some of that will transfer over, but I'm sure there are teaching strategies that apply only to bow use.

I am going to stop in at the local archery shop also, but I value advice given here over that of a "stranger" that has a vested interest in selling me a load of stuff.

Thanks in advance!

The real archery shops in your area are going to give decent advice. Other than that, you could look into joining a club. http://washingtonarchery.org/

The shops that you see listed at this same site will be they type that are worth your consideration.
