I guess it is anyway. I am not ready to have another lab but we will see how this little guy works out. We should be able to find plenty of things to chase around. In fact I think thats what I'm thinking about naming him, Chase.

And so it starts. Soon you will have 10 oif those things eating a ton of dog food and chasing the neighbor's cats. Hmmm...sounds like fun actually.
I figured something like this was in the works when you told me you were visiting the puppies every day on the way home from work.

3 weeks old? Holy cow, those things are gonna be the size of ponies. I say follow my lead and get two from the same litter. They're only trouble when they're awake:)

Have you ever seen a black and tan at 3 months? They look like a greyhound. The first pic is exactly 4.5 weeks, the second was at 3.5 weeks and this one is at 5.5 weeks.

OK for starters we didn't name him Chase. Not enough Red Neck for me and to sissy for him. His name is Huck and he is the worst animal on the face of the earth. He may have Trouble beat. He has gotten into everything he possibly can and shows no remorse for it. In fact he gets into about everything he can almost every day. Very seldom do I call my wife during the middle of the day when she isn't calling him an SOB or shouting "HUCK, YOU F****ER"
Here he is treeing a hotdog after tracking it across the yard.

This is what he was busy doing to his bed while I was in Riggins yesterday.

And this is what a moose he is at 15 weeks.

As far as the worst dog ever, He's still a pup so give him time. If you don't think a dog that size in puppy stage won't be you bought the wrong blood line. Trouble is without a doubt the most devoted dog I have ever owned but keep in mind she's pushing 4 years. She knows who is master and I wouldn't trade her for anything....

Trouble got a bad reputation for her early pranks, and because it was all publicized on the net. Once she got past the puppy terrorist stage she really became a good dog. I spent a lot of time around her, and there is NOTHING wrong with that dog. Hell, Bailey is a pain in my arse too, but at 17 months, she is starting to settle down.
Now to go pound some ditch chickens today, maybe a handful of quail-give her something to fetch. That would make her a keeper...

Sorry, but a black-and-tan will EAT any bird, not retrieve it. Not good advice.
By the way, that's a VERY good looking Black-and-Tan, and I for one LOVE 'em (especially after they get over the puppy stage.

My Grandma says a naughty pup makes a good dog. I beleive it.
The funniest thing he does is pester my wifes dog. He's a grumpy old Mini Shcnauzer (his name is Rabbit). Huck bites him until he gets mad and tries to bite him back. Then Huck runs around him baying at him like he's a cat. I don't mean little barks, I mean full on obnoxious hound bays like he's got something up a tree. The look on Rabbits face is priceless.

Bob, Mojo was talking about taking his lab out for chickens, not my B&T. You are right I doubt if there would be much left to cook after he "fetched" it.

My buddy had a Walker that fetched pheasants. When he was trotting back with the bird all you could see was tail feathers hanging out his mouth. Slobber covered birds were the norm. Soft mouthed though never broke the skin...

Most of my family's hounds hunt grouse like champs. Bay under the tree they are in till you get there.
