Craig, AK Kings
      #382663 - 07/30/09 06:58 AM

Headed up to Craig tomorrow for a week of fishing and hunting with some clients. We'll have access to boats with some serious range, and I was wondering if it was worthwhile to buy a king stamp this year.

In the last two years I've caught exactly 1 king up there, at Warrenfall, not out in the big salt.

Is it worth it out there this year?

King runs all over the state have been crap this year. Lots of closures although I know little bought Craig. I will not advise to not but a stamp... cuz then your gonna get that "not targeted 55 lb king" and it will be all my fault

Have a great trip Andy

If you know where to look and have the right people, people willing to put in the time and stick it out in the right spots, there are kings around. Sure its slow compared to June fishing but this ain't June. Went 2 for 3 yesterday which was a great day with the crew I had, 0 for 1 today but we didn't spend much time looking for them.
