Was up there yesterday. Hit a few Sox (nice lookin ones too, but no retention yet). Crackered off a decent sized Springer (they're always 25lbs the ones you lose, right?), and saw one mother huge sturgeon breaching about 150 yds from the boat(that's what whales do right?) Dang that thing looked big. It's really hard to guesstimate size, but I'd say 10' at least. It had a shadow, and it was a cloudy day...
The water is really warm. Hopefully some rain/cooling trends will continue for a wk or two and the temps will drop.
Some firsts: 1) Yesterday was the first time I've ever been on the Fraser in the summer and not seen nets everywhere. There were only a few.
2) No seals. None.
3) Saw a bear swimming across a large channel (not the main channel, but still a good 3-400 yds across) couldn't see if he made it, as he was around the bend by the time he was 1/3 way across.
4) I heard my Dad almost swear. The anchor buoy line slipped it's knot, and we lost an anchor before he could catch the anchor line.
