Two items were inadvertently left off the agenda that was sent out this morning.

WHEN: Friday, August 21, 2009 -- 8:30 a.m.
WHAT:
A. Coastal DUNGENESS Crab Regulations - RULE ACTION:
The Commission will consider adoption of permanent amendments to WAC 220-52-040, Commercial crab fishery-Lawful and unlawful gear, methods, and other unlawful acts, to implement 2009 legislation (ESHB 1516). The Commission held a public hearing on the proposals during its July 10-11, 2009, meeting in Olympia.
B. Columbia River Commerical & Tribal STURGEON Fishing - RULE ACTION:
The Commission will consider adoption of permanent amendments to WAC 220-20-020, General provisions-Lawful and unlawful acts--Food fish other than salmon; and WAC 220-32-057, Season-Sturgeon, which are consistent with co-management agreements and would improve enforceability of the regulations. The Commission held a public hearing on the proposed amendments during its July 10-11, 2009, meeting in Olympia.
C. 2010 DEPARTMENT REQUEST LEGISLATION - DECISION:
The Commission will consider approval of the Department's proposed agency request legislation for the 2010 session. The Commission was briefed on the proposals at its August 7-8, 2009, meeting in Colville.
D. Petition for Rule Change - WAC 232-12-017, Deleterious exotic wildlife:
Following a briefing by Wildlife Program staff, the Commission will consider a citizen's petition to amend WAC rules regarding mute swans.
E. Petition for Rule Change - WAC 232-28-291, SPECIAL HUNTING SEASON PERMITS:
Following a briefing by Wildlife Program staff, the Commission will consider a citizen's petition to amend WAC rules regarding muzzleloader special hunting permits.
F. GENERAL DISCUSSION:
Available Commissioners and Department staff will discuss recent activities and items of interest.
LUNCH BREAK
EXECUTIVE SESSION:
Pursuant to RCW 42.30.110(1)(g), the Commission may go into Executive Session to review qualifications of specific candidates for the Department Director position. No final hiring decisions will be made during the Executive Session, and the public is not permitted to attend the Executive Session. The Commission will reconvene in public session before adjourning the meeting. If any action is necessary, it will take place during open public session.
*WHERE: Natural Resources Building, 1111 Washington Street SE, Room 172, Olympia, Washington. No public input will be accepted during the meeting. This meeting was originally planned as a telephone conference call; however, Commission members are in Olympia for special meetings August 19-20, 2009, and may be available to attend in person.

Governors office is also looking at the possibility of remodeling all of the natural resource agencies. One alternative being explored is to lump them all into one large agency. WDFW, WDNR, DOE, Conservation Commission, State Parks, and the shellfish portion of DOH. Probably also the Puget Sound Partnership. Other alternatives would move and match/mix pieces of agencies. Heads up...next legislative session might be real interesting.

I'd bet there are moves afoot to separate out commercial fishing from the commission.
