I've been catching these dudes in Grand Lake over in Oklahoma. This guy weights about 3 lbs. and is pretty typical of the blue cats in that lake, but they can run up to 50 lbs. They feed mainly on threadfin shad, and that's what you have to use as bait to catch them, I fish main lake flats in 25-35 feet of water and slow troll a whole or piece of shad on the bottom using bottom walkers. These blue catfish are excellent eating fish, I rate them up there with walleye and crappie.

Used to gettem in Clark's Hill Res. on the Savannah R. when I was stationed at Ft. Gordon, GA. (circa 1968)

There is some good cat fishing in the Columbia. The John Day (Oregon) is really good in the spring. Like Nav says, Good Eats.

I caught a decent one near Wishram a couple of years ago. I was actually looking for walleye and I think I was fishing too deep. Got him on a nightcrawler with a small spin-glo.
