So my buddy and I get to the Everett launch at 5:30am and the line is out to the road. Luckily we were there early enough that we were only about six rigs back, but still, we thought we were slackers for not getting there at five. As we're waiting wondering if there's gonna even be a parking spot left, an ambulance, two fire trucks and about four cop cars come racing out of the launch, and during the 15 minutes it took us to make the left turn into the launch off of Marine View Drive, about four other cop cars made their way around the line and into the launch. At this point, we realized that we were not late and that something else was going on. After waiting in line to get to the launch for about an hour, we finally made it, and were able to get lines in the water just as dawn broke.
We got our first fish, a four pound silver at about 7am, then another silver about 5 pounds at 7:30. Then we got a couple pinks, one of which we kept for the smoker, and then at 10:30 we got the fish of the day, a silver at 8 pounds. We called it a day after that. A green flasher with a red stripe connected to a green splatter back hootchie outperformed the straight green flasher with e-chip. We had a number of drive-bys that didn't stick and crackered a couple as well. Great day of fishing.
When we returned to the launch, we heard second hand through another boater that the issue at the launch that morning was that someone was run over by someone's boat as they were backing down to launch it. Very sad if that's the case, but like I said, the source was only hear-say, I don't know anything for sure.

Not a bad day other than the guy getting run over.

Great report.
That ramp can be dangerous in the morning. It has crossed my mind a few times that it is a good place to get run over. Its dark and hard to see what is behind you when you are backing up, guys are concentrating on getting the boat trailer centered and not watching for foot traffic. After I park my rig and walk back I'm always very careful. There is something like 14 lanes, lot of movement going on.
Some people get in too big a hurry both backing up and walking. People dont realize that the guy backing the rig has pretty poor vision. Walker beware I guess.
