There is a 4 page article regarding the Cattaraugus in the current issue of Fly Fisherman mag. I'd like to say don't waste your time because there's nothing there (It's my home water!), but that would be a pretty big whopper in iteself. We've been catching adult steel upwards of 10 to 12 lbs since Labor day weekend. Some of the guys have told me the first run started in mid-August with the huge flod that devastated Gowanda. Blood dot and blood stripe egg patterns in various colors, wooley buggers and stoneflies (olive, golden and black) on a 6 or 7 wt flyrod will produce a lot of excitement, especially in the lower river on the Senecas Nation reservation. Don't even think of fishing there without making your $45 license donation to the Senecas. It will go badly for you when you are caught!!!
