Last year during the Vets day tilla I broke my Rainshadow XST1143 by high sticking it on a snag. Boneheaded move on my part. Anyway, I finally got around to doing something about it. Last week I sent the rod back with an explanation. This week I got it back...exact replacement parts shipped back at cost. Quick, easy and appropriate service--great company.

They did a great job for me, too, replacing a 2002 1084 blank with a new one when a fishing bud broke the rod last year. TH Custom Rods rebuilt the rod with new components for no charge, too. (Travis's dad had built the original model.)
On the just-completed Skeena quest I'd lost my mojo and decided to shake up the line-up, so the second to last day I left the Gold Standard Loomis IMX 1084C in the truck and used the new 1084 Rainshadow instead for the first half of the day. I went 3-for-3 and noted an improvement in the 1084 newer blank over the older model. Only in the extreme tip sensitivity is my old IMX 1084 better than the new Rainshadow.
So with the blanks becoming better and Batson offering excellent customer service, I recommend Rainshadow as a front line rod choice. In fact, ahead of a long-planned 2010 Alaska summer family fishing trip I'm going to buy a couple of Rainshadows c/o TH Custom Rods for my two teenage sons to use.
