Doah!
      #387635 - 10/18/09 01:01 PM

Found myself with some extra time last night so I started the new project. Was happily reaming the rear grip and dry fitting when I noticed the finish on the blank got scratched. Must have had a piece of grit from the reamer inside. It didnt go deep enough to scratch the graphite matrix so I tried filling it with a bit of rod varnish. The the scratches are filled but still visible. Its right whrere the label will be and since I'm going with a subtle, clear label treatment on this one the scratches are unacceptable. Terrible thing to do to a brand new XST blank. Anyway, I'll be ordering another XST1085 tomorrow. Will hang onto the old one and either build one for myself or sell it as a blem.

DOAH!

Got the new XST blank yesterday and found a home for the other one with a guy over by Seiku. His daughter wants to give him a rod for Christmas. Nice daughter. Another trolling rod coming up!

We have some really nice die cut fish decals that will cover your scratch. Simply put the Rainshadow label on six inches above the butt wrap and trim out each end looks great you could even slap on some inch marks on each side of the wraps at 36" and 42" for easy measurements reference when a hog is landed and released.
