Sorry this took so long, took me some time to figure out these were to big to upload. Anyway here they are.

Had a tough hunt. Several setbacks early on including backpacking into the high country and getting chewed up and spit out by weather. The most unpleasant back pack hunt I've been on. Our plan B area was frigged with sheep hunters so we settled on an unscouted area with very low deer density. Saw four buck in six days including this one. Long hours on the glass. given everything that went wrong I felt very fortunate to find this guy.
27" wide and heavy. Fairly tall too. Hope all you guys are haveing awesome seasons!

Thanks for the comments guys.
Snuff, our first trip into the wilderness area was about 3.5 GPS miles from where we started hiking. You have to walk around a large canyon back there and a few other things that make it a less than direct route. Taking that into consideration I'd guess about 4 or 5 miles total. Really only the last mile or so is bad. But just about anywhere I've hunted like this, you'll have the place to yourself if you put forth some effort. just watch the weather is all! I learned my lesson this time, I wont try this $hit again If any kind of weather is forcast!
Honestly the area we ended up concentrating on was not physically difficult to hunt at all. Just not very many deer. Most guys dont have the patience to sit and glass all day and maybe see nothing at all. So the few bucks that are around get the chance to age a few years. We saw plenty of guys hunting that road hard as hell from the cushy four wheeler seat. And not one other hunter out actually walking. Not one. I'll bet I was within two miles of the main road when I spotted this guy.

Very nice. Glad to see something that quality come out of that area. Not far from where I am. I went up into the Wilderness last year several times. Great looking country. Plan todo the same next time I pull that tag. Were you on the east or west side of the hill?

Dog, we were hunting north of the wilderness area. Frankly I would have preferred to be hunting up there but it got kinda nasty and could'nt convince my old man to go back!
If you want to chat about the area sometime give me a call if you still have my number. PM me if not. How did your buddy make out? Did'nt he have an elk tag too?

I'll give you a shout when we get back. We leave tomorrow. Scouting trip was nothing short of unbelivable. 6hrs and 40-50 good fresh rubs including one large juniper that had one side shreded. We have high hopes.
