Opening weekend. new
      #387343 - 10/14/09 01:19 AM

My brother and I had a good opening weekend of hunting season. We drew a great area this year and there are high numbers of dear in the area. We counted over 60 deer opening morning. My brother got his 4x3 on opening morning at about 11. It is his first mulie buck. I tagged out with a pretty nice 4x4 sunday morning about 10, after a chilly start to the day -1* on the truck thermeter driving out to the canyon. All in all a great weekend. LIL

Just like any other game. There are people who bash on mulies for the taste but where these deer were living they eat GOOD. They are around fields (grass, wheat, lentel, garbonzo beens) and both the bucks and one doe I have got up there have been great eating. Not like desert sage brush eating mulies. LIL
