'09 Blacktail new
      #388409 - 11/02/09 02:30 PM Attachment (0 downloads)

I have hunted on and off with my little one during most of the season. She absolutely love to go out and look for the "daddy deer". I gave her a pair of my old binocs. this year as she was constantly wanting to borrow mine to glass a cut. She actually got a bit upset when we passed on two small bucks (spike and then a very small forkhorn) earlier in the season. I have seen two very nice bucks earlier in the year in the spot that I hunt and I really wanted to poke one of them. She went out with me on Halloween morning and we got lucky. This guy was chasing a doe about 250yds away from where we were in the cut. She was so happy to finally see a buck hit the dirt! There are not a lot of six year old girls that show as much enthusiasm as her. She still has a few more years of tagging along with dad until I let her pop one.

She really does get excited about deer hunting and fishing. She gets upset that I won't take her hunting for Elk this year. I think that is still a few years down the road.

Nice job there!

Good to see she has some fashion sense, as well. Not many would think to mix turquoise with pink and blaze orange.

She has a long way to go before she can compete with the Dogfish clan. Maybe she will pop off a round or two at range day '10.

It's a small 2X3. Short little rack with a small third tine on the right antler. I am not picky on the last day of the season, anything with branched antlers will do for me. Backstrap tastes better than tag soup.
