I was honored to accompany my good friend Dave on his Nevada Bull Elk hunt this last week. Dave has an artifical knee 2 bad shoulders and a bad back(dont try riding bulls, It will mess you up. All I can say is WOW. Its been 25 years since I last chased the Elk. As many of you may know Nevada has a terriffic Elk herd and has managed it as more of a Hunt of a Lifetime event. Dave has waited 22 yrs to pull his tag. We hunted about 30 miles East and North of Ely. He wasn't about to road hunt and instead just sucked it up and went for it. We saw elk every day and had several oppertunities that didn't work out but yesterday morning Dave connected on a nice 3pt at 500 yards. I saw more elk in 4 days of glassing and hunting then in all 5 years of hunting them in Wyoming. He watched this bunch with 9 small bulls for half an hour before he decided to take the 3pt. Nothing else was coming out and time was getting short. As soon as the bull went down, first bullet in the front shoulder, the 6X6 walked out. Darn the luck.. Dave worked hard and thru pain inorder to get to experiance this hunt of a lifetime and did it with style.
Nothing Big Stick could post up would possibly compare to the quality of this Bull of a Lifetime. Oh and I had one hell of a good time too. Thought Id Share.
