Nice little BT on the coast new
      #389593 - 11/17/09 07:11 PM Attachment (0 downloads)

Ran across this guy bedded down next to the road in Ocean Shores this weekend. Saw better than two dozen deer in the four days I was down there, but this was by far the nicest. Seemed to have an issue with me opening my truck door though...I was just going to offer a ride, like any nice fella would.

2x3 with decent eyeguards, and a little kicker started at the base of the left antler. Thought it was a leaf at first, but got a better look at it from the side.

Frustrating to see only a few days from the late season.

He looks a bit tired. Must have got a lot of action during the rut. Not the best place to take a rest if he wants to become a 3X3 or 3X4. Good luck on killing him!

I bet he has a copy of the regulations and disappears on the late opener...they always do.

Too right Mojo, they always seem to know when to become invisable. However, even mature bucks will make a mistake every now and again. He does look like a tasty critter.

Brewer - I'm convinced once a buck reaches the age of 4, they are put on the mailing list from fish and game and sent a copy of the regs
