First Blood new
      #389561 - 11/17/09 03:27 PM

Well, we dry fired the new Bradley to season it per the instructions, and then dived right in.

First load was a small brisket, and a small pork butt

Brisket

Being carved, Billy (loner) watching and drooling

next the butt

as pulled

Then Billy wanted to do ABT's today.....Oh Boy!!!

One's missing....WTH???

I think I'm hooked. This thing is gonna get a workout!
PS...Billy did get two apple pies, and Marty came over last nite for brisket with us.

Outstanding grub and excellent company for dinner. Many thanks for the invite. How much longer did the butt take?

Ya know, I left the butt on 'til about 10:00 PM. Still was only up to 175. Pulled it off, Wrapped in foil, and let sit overnight. Stuck it in the crock pot this morn and heated it to 195 IT. Was absolutely awesome!!

Thanks again for having me over Mr and Mrs Nav., I had a great time, thank you for your hospitality and for the parting gifts(the apple pie made it home, not all of it, but enough for after dinner dessert;) glad I could be present for the Bradley breakin and it's first taste of ABT's, it was all awesome!!
Was good to get to visit with you again Marty, see ya next time, maybe by then I'll be all healed up and we can go raid some OP river.

It's cream cheese/ smoked salmon, and topped with grated 5-cheese blend.
These are actually "rats" 'cuz we left the "tails" on 'em.
We cut the side out, then filled 'em and replaced the side, then bacon wrap held together with toothpick.

You've got me drooling Mitch.

I'll be giving my Bradley a workout during the next week while my sons and their girlfriends are around....brisket; ribs; stuffed pork loin; turkey breasts; salmon/steelhead; and some elk summer sausage. Gonna be an incredible cloud of smoke around the homestead for awhile.
