tail light and turn signal on F150 new
      #389916 - 11/21/09 05:22 PM

So the right rear turn signal and brake light on my 2002 F150 is not working. Replaced bulb and fuse for the light. Also made sure connector for bulb looked good and checked the T connector for trailer plug in.

Still not working...any thoughts...I really have taken good care of this truck and all the wiring looks great.

Wiggle your emergency flasher switch and see if it starts working. Same thing happened to us last month and hubby found it was loose inside the steering column.

If it has a ground wire screwed to the sheetmetal behind the light, make shure it's getting a good conection and not corroded. Older Fords were notorious for bad taillight grounds.

I appreciate everyone's tips. Well...after much troubleshooting I discovered when the steerwheel is tilted all the way up...it works.

But in any of the lower positions it does not work. So I guess it is pinching a wire somehere in there.

$150 bucks...there is plastic connector in the shaft and the wires going into it were pulling out everytime you lowered the steering wheel...

I guess that's another thing for us to look forward to, because I'm sure ours will do weird stuff in the future.
