its soup season...

soup-er bread bowls

1/2 cup warm water
1 cup warm milk
2 tblspns. softened butter
2 tblspns. sugar
1 1/2 tspn. salt
4 cups flour
2 packages (1/4 oz each) dry yeast
1 egg white beaten...

mix yeast with 1/2 cup warm water and sugar and let stand til bubbly, add all remaining ingredients (except beaten egg) white mixing well, knead dough on lightly floured surface, divide into 6 portions and shape into balls, place on greased baking sheet, cover and let rise in warm place til doubled, brush with egg white and bake at 375 20-25 minutes or until golden brown....cool then cut top off and hollow out bowl, fill with soup....
