Rod Wrapper new
      #40181 - 10/22/01 04:43 PM

Well, I finally got around to building me a rod wrapper...nothing fancy, just a servicable, adjustable, manual wrapper for a total cost of less than 20 bucks...cheap if you've looked at any "store bought" ones. I'll be glad to draw up a list of materials and plans for Marty to post if anyone is interested.

Greg that sounds great. Have you thought of making it a electric wrapper using a old sewing machine motor.

Yes, I thought about it, but since I will only make a few rods a year, and have no interest in doing any fancy butt weaves, it really isn't of any use to me. I ordered a drying motor that I'm going to install, and that's probably as far as I'll take it. I enjoy making the tools and jigs for a new hobby almost as much as the hobby itself! I'll get the plans drawn up and scan them in...which format is the easiest for you to work with?

.jpg or .gif are the standards on the web. You will also find .bmp files too. I can work with all three.

Well, here's a picture of the finished wrapper. I wrote an article and imported the photos, hope you can use it!

Greg I was able to open the file with word after some juggling. Will add it to the site...thanks a bunch and it looks great.
