Finished my newest rod yesterday...Pac-Bay Traditional series 1086...wrapped in Gudebrod scarlet, with no color preserver, thread darkened down to nicely complement the color of the blank. This is quite the meatstick, 9 feet, rated for up to 25 lb. test line and 1-3 oz. lures...his name is "Ike". Set up with a Ambassadeur 5500C3 and fresh 20lb. Berkely XT, and can't wait until my next trip to the OP!

Yup, I got a system! I spine the blank, and mark guide spacing, then fit the corks, and glue up the handle/seat assembly. While the epoxy is setting on the handle, I wrap the guides on the top section. By the time I finish the top, the butt section is dry and I wrap it. Then both pieces get finish applied, and into the dryer. All in an afternoon, and no rushing!
Next long weekend on the calendar is President's Day in Feb., think I'll be camped somewhere on the OP...

I wish! Don't forget to send my rod bill...and to set one of those GL3 blanks in the corner for me.
