How much would a Rainshadow 1083 blank or kit run? Greg had mentioned taking a look at the Rainshadow 1083 and I'm curious what it would run. Also the rumours of the new 55 mil modulus blanks on the horizon sound awesome. Personally, I've never even seen a rainshadow rod...

I don't see a 1083 listed for a rainshadow or pac-bay they seem to have skipped that one.

I was wrong about the number...wish they made a 1083, they do however make a 1084. I can't believe I never knew the number system before...108 = 108 inches 3 is a power rating, therefore the 1084 has a bit more backbone than the Loomis 1083. I'd be interested in the 1084 Rainshadow pricing for blank, or kit...Thanks

I fish the 1084 as a spinning rod and it is awesome. SicTi guides, Ti reel seat, reat spinning rod. the mod.fast blank makes it fish almost identical to the 1083.. It is my favorte spinning rod.. loads real well, nice soft tip, yet plenty of backbone to hammer ths fish. I fish a lot of small slinkies or small pencil w/ a single puff ball.. the mod.fast blank makes casting a dream

Thanks for all the replies guys. And yes I am very interested. I only have about 15 rods now and am in the process of convincing the wife that I need more. I offered to buy her a rod for Valentines day. I'm probably 30 days out, but it sounds like I may have to get a matched pair...one spinning and one casting. I actually have nice lighter rods and probably actually need a more sensitive med-heavy but I don't enjoy fishing them much. Any thoughts on a sensitive med-heavy...is there any such thing?
