Andy, Rainshadow lists a couple of 1-piece hotshot blanks on their website...HS9000 and HS9001. Both are 7.5' blanks, their longer ones are 2-piece. Marty can make you up a rod kit on these, just drop him a line and let him know what you want in the way of components.

Andy, I am in the process of building a Rainshadow IP965 (thanks again Marty) and also a Loomis HS981, the rainshadow is extremely close to the loomis and a lot less in cost. It is an 8' rod. It isnt listed unbder the Hot Shot rods it is listed as a Mag bass blank, you might also look into Rouge Rods, they are making an excellent blank also and have a good selection of hotshot rods. Call D and E Rods and they can hook you up with a Rouge if you want, you can also get a hold of TH and I am sure he will be glad to build you a rainshadow or sell you a blank. I would recommend Rouge or Rainshadow and day over Loomis. I have a lot of Loomis rods and the Quality has really gone down hill in the last couple of years. Just my .02 Gotta say the Allstars are nice also. Firedog

The 965 from Raishadow is an awesome 1 pcs. plug rod. 8' 10-20# Maybe my favorite all around rod. I troll cut bait in the summer with 2oz of lead, BB for chinook w/ 2oz of lead, and use it as a wild steelie plug rod. Lots of options.!

Rainshadow makes some of the best blanks on the market. Very clean, straight, very sensitive (I think they fish as weel or better than my GL3 blanks) we have had great feedback form our clients regarding their blanks. By far and away the best blank on the market for the money.

Just finished wrapping my Rainshadow IP965, otherwise known as a HS965 [Smile] This is going to be a sweet springer rod. Wrapped it in black with metallic purple trim and a chevron butt wrap with metallic black and purple with one silver wrap all over a black under wrap. Looks awesome now I need to get out and catch a fish on it [Smile]

Hey TH and Firedog,
How do you guys think that 965 compares to the rainshadow 1021 for a good heavy steelhead plug rod and salmon rod? Just curious, im not sure what would be best for quickfish, trolling spinners/herring and a bobber rod. Think either would do it all? I already plan on getting a 9000 for small steelie diver/plug rod.

Sean, I think the 965 will do most anything a 1021 will. I dont have a rainshadow 1021 but I do have a Loomis 1021 and it is one of my favorite rods. The 965 in my opinion is to short for a bobber rod but that is personal preference. I also have a Loomis hs9000 and it is a nice rod but to short for my liking, I like 8' rods for trolling and plugging and at least 8'6" for drift fishing.

Marty, that Rainshadow did turn out real pretty. I will try and get some pictures of it. I just finished my HS981 also, did it in silk, blue with yellow trim.

Rainshadow has added two new Hot Shot models in the one piece version. An HS930-M, and a HS962-M. Also a 10 1/2' 2 piece Salmon action, the ISA1266F, as well as the IST1025F in dark transparent green.

I was pluggin with my HSR 1025's for steelie but they are a little on the strong side. They are great salmon rods and use them for kwickie alot. But I picked up a set of TH 9000's (even though TH shipped them to my home address [Razz] [Big Grin] ) and love them for plugging for steelies so far. They actually have alot of backbone on them and a nice soft tip so I can see everything.

Tight lines

Kevin
