Greg now that your back..did you find the bull from earlier. I saw in the Cabelas catalog they have a roll up lifesize cow elk. I bet you could have used that on the earlier hunt. Would be fun to use it just like you would use those turkey decoys. I believe they called them Montana Decoys.

Yep, saw plenty of elk, and flubbed my only shot opportunity of the early season Tuesday morning. With the hot, dry, conditions we had here, it made the hunting pretty tough, especially the wind...never blew the same direction for more than a few minutes at a time. I did manage to get a shot at a young 4 pointer that came in to Don's calling...but an earlier fall while running through a clearcut to get into shooting position knocked my sights out of whack. Well, there's always late season!
