Trophy Game management

Can anybody tell me why our state doesn't manage for Larger Blacktails? Wouldn't it be great to hunt the rut for some of the large ones? It wouldn't matter to me what the weapon choice was as long as it was during the rut.

We hunt the late season in N.E. Wash.during the rut and snow......a lot of private land, but you'd be surprized what some of those farmers will give you for some fresh seafood....ugly daughters though......so far anyway

Rutting Whitetails are sometimes LOVE crazy (kinda like Redneck).couple grunts and they'll stop in their tracks.......as long as they haven't winded or seen you yet,I've found Backies to be simular in behavior.

State Game management (oxymoron for sure )....kinda like Military Intelligence.....Os

Marty, this state doesn't want us to be successful. They only want us to buy licenses and tags and spend our money with them. You should know that by now!!! The only thing that gets hunted late in N.E. Wa. (not counting permits) is whitetail. I wonder if the Indians are shooting those big mulies late in November. Does anybody out there know?

The state is becoming more and more receptive to what the hunters/fishermen want. I bet they even have a way to propose special seasons and regulations just like the fishing side. Now getting them to go along with those ideas is another thing.

The state did good in changing the regs for Eastern WA mulies. I've hunted there forever and have noticed a huge increase in bucks since they changed the rules to 3pnt minimum. I'm very happy about this change. Maybe they should do it out West. It only took a couple years to see great results. [bellyup]
