What power of binoculars new
      #40644 - 09/05/01 10:41 PM

Ok how big are the binos you pack in the woods. I actually take the 10 x 50's with me for field of view and magnification. This is one area I could upgrade to a nicer pair of binos since I pack around a pair of Bushnells. Then again I am always looking to upgrade the toys.

Anybody have the cabelas binoculars? Who are these made by? Think I would like a pair of nikon or leupold binos. Are Leupolds over rated?

Marty, can you tell yet that I'm getting REALLY bored and ready to get back to the woods? At work we use 10x50 Steiners, and they are really super optics, but too large for my taste to carry around. I've been looking at a pair of Steiner 8x30 Predators for a year or so, and may break down and get them soon. Those waterproof compacts from Cabela's look pretty nice, also. I like the long eye relief feature, as it's really a pain to use binos with glasses.

When at the Wood boat show yesterday we went into a shop and the guy was pushing a type of binoculars from Romania....claimed they were in the same class as Ziess. Can't remember the name but the price was cheaper than a Ziess for sure.

Bit the bullet and sprung for some of the 12x 50 Cabelas Waterproof Binos. Come with 30 day free trial and bino strap.
