I was pretty suspect before the new binoculars showed up. These are a very high quality binocular and are made in Japan. Nikon? The field of view could be greater , but I think the brightness will be better with the smaller field of view. These are waterproof rubber coated and feel nice in the hands. One of the features I really like is the click adjustment focus...very nice feature . I am off to stare at the moon in my new binos.

Not sure who makes them, but they are nice glasses. My bud has a pair of the 10x42 waterproofs that are sweet. I'm thinking of getting the 8 power compacts with long eye relief. I just prefer the compact glasses for the type of hunting I do. Actually, if I can swing it, I checked out a Leica laser range finder (has an integrated 8x monocular)...talk about NICE! No need to carry range finder and binos with that unit! Greg

Greg I prefer the small ones too when ever I am busting brush. But for long range glassing cuts these will be nice. These babies focus up close too. I can read the contours on my park maps 10 ft away ....just another reason to stay in bed.

As suspected the new Binos are excellent at twighlight gathering. I will be able to easily see in the early morning late evenings with the binos. These are not real good for close up work due to the smaller field of view. I would recommend a 8 x something for close work. I can easily see the end of Ediz hook from my house with the new binoculars (about a mile away). No need to drive to the boat ramp to see how fishing is now beware!!
