Until recently I thought the blacktail bucks were silent...wrong!! While photographing the rutting bucks they would make a grunting noise...It was very quiet. What is the significance of the grunt in the communications between deer?
If one were to transfer the whitetail strategy of grunting to blacktail...does it really apply?

If you want to get a rise out of a doe..use the bleet call. They have a huffing fit . Big bucks don't have the same response at all....darn.

Picked up a deer grunt call today. It is adjustable to make grunts from fawns, does and bucks. I am getting really excited for the Blacktail rut and its still a month and a half away!!
