Wright & McGill rods
      #408637 - 12/08/10 04:53 PM

I was up at 3 River Marine last weekend and Wright & McGill had a sales rep there. They have a new series of rods coming out in 2011 which are crazy looking. The entire blank is finished in a blue/white/gray camo pattern that reminded me of an abalone finish or something. Really crazy looking. The rep said it was called, "North West Sky" I think.

The finish was interesting, although not really my thing.... but thought it was interesting anyway. Wish I had taken a picture.

I've spent the last couple weeks trying to find a Wright & McGill steelhead rod. I'd been hoping to track down a HDR 86C-2 rod to try out, but according to WME, they aren't going to be making it anymore. Bummer.

According to their rep, "Wright & McGill is releasing a new salmon rod series STORMY SKY S-CURVE. This new series will include 16 rods, retail for $99, and available in February."

I tried to explain that a salmon rod in February doesn't help me with my steelhead fishing now...

Awwww. Don't worry Karry. I still love you guys. If my current relationship with Wright & McGill doesn't work out, maybe we can talk about getting back together.
