What kind of saw is needed to cut rocks so it has a smooth cut?

Marty, they're called lapidary saws...diamond blade, and use water as a lubricant. I think you still have to polish them to get the shiny look. Not sure where you would find one, maybe a rockhound catalog or some place that sells jewelry making stuff.

PS...a tile saw might be a cheap alternative for smaller specimens. Home Depot sells one made by Wen that isn't too expensive.
