Has anybody used this yet? One part water based rod finish. U40 claims it will out last your rod. 13.00 for 4 ounces. If it works good then how about this? 26.00 a gallon http://www.rainguard.com/index.php?page=...t&Itemid=72
I learned when doing taxidermy many items are common hardware store items people bottle under there label and sell for ridicules profit. Btw i believe but have not confirmed that the thread color sealant is just liquid latex thinned with water and ammonia .

Love all of U40's products. I use both types of Duragloss.

Permagloss has it's place but only use it coat thread you don't want to have a build up of finish. I have used it to coat a blank that I wanted a gloss finish. The shelf life is short after bottle is opened

Permagloss is not water based, in fact it's so hot that it lifts many paints and some rod finishes. It sets by reacting to the humidity in the air, doesn't take much to set it. Put it in an unlined 4 oz metal paint can and drill a small hole in the can that will seal with a screw threaded cup hook and it will last for years. Just take out what you want thru the screww hole and seal it up with the cup hook, it will seal quickly from the setting finish. Never turn the can upside down this will let in air and ruin the finish.
