Trower puts on a great show. I'd love to see/hear Trower, Randy Hanson, and some old school blues growlers on stage at the same time.
For me though, nothing will ever top sitting at a front table when Stevie Ray played a 2 hour set at the Yale in 86, the day before his show in the Colisuem with the Moody Blues.
Would have loved to see Stevie and Jeff Healey together. I saw them both separately in The Yale.

Trower is one of the greatest guitar players I've ever heard. I still listen to the CD and have the original album. Can anyone remember when they first started ,before they even had their first album out?
Who can remember the Portland,Or. Paramount's "Catch A Rising Star" concerts back in the early 70's?
Thats where I first heard Trower. It cost $2.00 to get in and see 3-4 bands trying to make it in the record industry. The other bands I saw there were the unknown (at that time) Supertramp, Heart, Ray Manzurak(Keyboard player for the Doors)
I guess you could say I am an old time rock and roller. I do Love my classic rock.
Robin Trower does ROCK!!!!!!!!!

Trower's been around longer than that - he was one of the originals in 'Procul Harem'

I guess I saw him when he went on his own. This was possibly his new band when I saw him. This was I'm guessing around 1972-73 when he came to Portland. The event "Catch A Rising Star" was for new bands that were sorta debuting(sp) their new bands. I also was a Procul Harem fan at that time.I lost most of my old albums in my divorce 5 years ago.

It was in 1974 when I saw him now that I remember that I was a junior in high school at that time.I think thats when I also bought his first album after he went solo after leaving Procol Harum. Damn, I am getting old now that I think about it.... still young at heart tho.

If I'm not mistaken I think Healy and Vaughn did a version of Roadhouse Blues live. I'll dig around...could've just been a post-rehearsal dream I had once though!
