Tool box or Canopy
      #43020 - 01/11/02 12:24 AM

So what you got? I use to have a canopy on the last truck...was nice to keep stuff dry. I much prefer the diamond plate tool box and extended cab.

My old truck had a canopy when I got it, but the back door was gone. So I took that off and put a diamond plate box on it. I really liked that because I could lock it up. I think it looks better with a box too. When I sold my truck I took it down to the highway next to Olympic Lumber. I was taking a night class at the time and checked it about 6:00pm and everything was fine. I came back at 10:00pm and someone had taken my box and a set of tires that were in the back! I forgot to lock it and so they could easily unscrew the bolts and take it. About a month later the cops were busting some guy up the road for meth. My neighbor said that they were recovering a lot of stolen property that this guy had taken. I got my tires back, but the box is gone. Make sure you lock your box on your truck even if you don't have anything in it! Otherwise some lowlife will come and steal it!

Old man canopy with double doors. I sometimes sleep back there and cant stand a truck without one. Just my preference. I dont like having a tailgate to lift over all the time either. I'm don't care too much about looks, function is more important. [Smile]

I agree with waterdog, [Wink] Plus, I can haul all my crap, without it getting wet, and they can't see what's in there with tinted window's.
plus , if it look's crappy(like my last one)
nobody messes with it!!

I looked at some canopies the other day and drove off the lot with a case of sticker shock! I might be in the market for a toolbox soon. My truck has a back seat if I decide to sleep in!

I have a deep box without compartments... it's nice to be able to lay the spare rod inside and lock it up.
On the other hand, a canopy and a sleeping bag is a cheap way to go most anywhere.
