I always come into the site on the salmon and steelhead forum page so I missed this one. I'll have to keep an eye on it. There must be SOMETHING I can contribute here!

Sure there is, Doug. You can contribute your steelhead and salmon paint schedules... Great photos on your website. I particularly like the coffee table piece, I've been threatening the wife with one of those for years! She's put up with a lot of my taxidermy projects as livingroom decorations over the years, but wouldn't buy off on that one until I showed her the pics of yours...now I've got a green light!

Ya know Greg, I don't even have one of those coffee tables for myself. My wife really wants one but there never seems to be enough time to do all the mounts I'd like to have. Customer's stuff takes priority.
Thanks for the comments about the website. I get alot of clients from outside my immediate area and this gives them a chance to see my work without coming to P.A. Kinda like an online brochure.
Is taxidermy your profession or hobby?

Just a hobbiest Doug. With a VERY full-time job in the Army, I just do a few pieces a year to try and stay current with techniques and materials...but it's hard with all the advancements of the last few years. Here's a link to some of my work- http://www.angelfire.com/wa2/bowsnstuff/
I'd like to stop by your shop sometime and chew the fat.

Your work looks good, Greg! I also liked the photos of your bow-building projects. That's another of my areas of interest that I've not had time to pursue.
You're welcome to stop by anytime.

Marty, I'm pretty much a "Jack of all trades"...if there's an outdoor-related hobby/craft, I've probably at least tried it. I got interested in taxidermy as a kid when my dad took me to the shop of a local guy that was mounting a smallmouth bass that I caught with my grandpa when I was 12. Everything else has always revolved around the outdoors, and hunting and fishing. I also paint, do hand-thrown pottery, woodwork, leathercraft, and have fooled around with blacksmithing, gunsmithing...
