My feeder is about half full. I noticed a few weeks ago it was getting quite a few visits. Here lately, probably due to the inclimate weather, I haven't seen as much activity. I always have the critters in mind and make sure there is feed in the feeder. They like the "spent" garden area also. Heck, last season I just bought my corn "10 for a buck" while the squirrels were eating my homegrown corn...... fo free! It's also nice to watch the salmon feeding on my cured eggs........... not for free. FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISH!

I feed 'em every morning when I go out to get the paper. We've got quite a few "regulars" around, but need a cold snap to bring in some of the unusual visitors. Regulars include jays, chickadees, towhees, juncos, sparrows, and a couple of flickers.

I had to knock off stocking the feeders because of rats..dang it. But, we have lots of natural food and we had a big flock of Pine Siskins hanging around last week. It is the largest flock I have seen in the last few years since disease started decimating their population. We also had a pileated woodpecker hanging out on our rotten snags last weekend.
Widgeons and mallards galore at the trout pond but thankfully no Blue Heron lately. Now, if I could only cull the squirrel population.
