Fall Colors!!
      #45442 - 10/13/01 05:39 PM

What a beautiful day on The Olympic Peninsula!! The vine maples are in full color it is stunning to view....Who needs Vermont. Time to take a drive it is truly beautiful in the Woods this time of Year. I didn't have my camera today or would share one of the prettiest trees ever.....moss covered maple in full color with ferns growing on the trunk along the river bank. If you have been wanting to check out the maple colors its time to go before they get blown away with a storm.

Nice one Marty. Now, close your eyes, and imagine looking out over the Olympics or the Cascades, and seeing the entire mountain cloaked in those colors, and every shade of orange, yellow, brown, and red to go along with it. That's what fall colors are in the Appalachians, along the Blue Ridge where I grew up. You really have to see them to believe them.

Nice pic Marty...I have never been back east in the fall but I have to agree with you, our area has some prime fall colors. We have lots of vine maples on our property and they are ablaze.

Speaking of falling leaves....I found a big maple leaf on our lawn (amongst the other thousands) that stuck out because of its size, not color. It measured 21 inches stem to tip and 18 inches across. It must have been on the branch where the best sap ran!
