That little shot of rain Saturday night turned the woods into Chantrelle nirvana, I filled up 4 bags in about 90 min. it's T-bones with Saut. shrooms and onions tonight. Life is good.

LC, glad to get the good report. Heading for the patch this afternoon. Pot roast and mushrooms are on the menu for tomorrow!
Post pickin' report... Good gathering, not great. Lot of cut stems in the area we picked. Also, found a fair number of chanterelles that were past their prime, especially the whites. Post eatin' report... 11, on a scale of 1 to 10. [ 09-30-2002, 09:01 PM: Message edited by: CedarR ]

seen alot of stems on the last outing myself..
Still did fair...hard to be there at the right time some days.

You got that right. I also came across lots of stems late Sunday afternoon. Luckily I've got two spots that the commercial pickers haven't found yet and getting on private land now days is next to impossible. These last days of sunny weather after a shower are what we pickers live for.
