Soggy mushrooms new

The last trip to pick the forest floor left lots to be desired. The rain had ruined the bounty it brought up through the moss.
Managed only a small bowl of useable chantrelles.

Wished for rain... forgot to tell it to stop!!

Found the same thing here last Sunday. Got into a new patch that looked like it hadn't been picked all season. Hundreds of chanterelles, but only a half dozen were fit for human consumption. We left those. Hate to say it's over, but that's what it looks like.
