Winter runs -- any good news yet?
      #55 - 12/20/99 10:13 PM

Anyone seeing any winter steelies yet? I've heard of a couple at Reiter and Tokul, but the numbers are discouragingly small.

Hooked 3 caught 2 this morning. Lost the first at my feet 12 buck with sea lice. Sorry can't tell you were but your local rivers should have some when they drop in shape. Saw 3 others caught 4 more hooked. Time to go fishing again :-)

This weekend will tell the tale, the rivers will be in perfect shape. I'm going tomorrow morning for sure! I'll let you know what happens. Don't miss out this weekend!!!

I went to Reiter this morning for a couple of hours before going to work. I was there from 7 to 9AM, say 5 fish on only two landed, they were about 5-6lbs. It was very cold as you would expect. The river was in good shape but visability was only 1-1.5 feet. River is still droping and if it clears up a bit more, and the fish are in, it should still be good through Sunday. Tight Lines!

I did well this past weekend on a small
river on the north Oregon Coast. 2 fish on Saturday and 1 nice 15lb buck Sunday.
Water was low and clear.
