I'll donate a fresh batch of home made brownies Marty I love your site and you know it too....but I seriously think things are spread out too far thru out the board. Salmon and Steelhead Fishing is pretty much occ don't you think? First place most go and then post about anything. Just my 2 cents worth....that's my story and I'm sticking with it

Flasher people do tend to make it there Occ but I am trying to make it so the forum list is the occ... choose the right one and its pretty easy to use. To see whats happening across the board I use the active topic link..
But I can't be everywhere at once.. or make the correct decision every time

Normally (only a short time on this board) I'm in the fly fishing sections. Live in Ashland, fish the Rogue year round, and the Chetco/Windchuck/Smith in the late fall/winter.

I'm new to this board but I live and guide in Oregon. I fish the Alsea for fall chinook, then fish many central and north coast streams in the winter, before going to the Santiam, upper Willamatte, and Mckinsie in the spring and summmer. Also love to fish the peninsula in Washington for steelies if and when I get the chance to.

Ok I confess. I do fish in Oregon several times a year. mostly the Mckenzie or Rogue. Thinking of hitting the Mckenzie in late July for a evening of redsides on a fly.

I'm from Oregon as well (Eugene/Springfield). I just started fishing a little over three months ago, so I haven't had a chance to make many road trips, yet. Keyword being yet.
However, I live within walking distance of the Middle Fork Willamette and have fished there when time permits. I've also floated the section below the Dexter Dam a dozen times or so.

I also fish in Oregon a few times a year. Usually in the lakes around Eugene/Springfield area and on the coast. Real nice Bass fishing. I also fish the Willamette and John Day for Bass. I've got to go look at the Trask (sp?) river area for Steelhead/Salmon.

Thanks Marty for putting in an Oregon forum. I didn't even see it until today. I think it is a great Idea and should catch on. I am from Springfield and drift the Mckenzie, Willamette, Umpqua, Siuslaw and wanting to learn the alsea and the Santiam. I got my sights on the Checto, Elk, Sixes and deschutes hopefully some day soon.

I live out in Gresham, so it's convenient for me to move up and down the Sandy. I can never leave home because dating back to when I was a little boy, the Sandy's always been good to me.

Gonefishing.
Welcome to steelheader.net
As for gettimg ideas for jig patterns, Do a search on here, I bet you can get some good ideas. Or check out some jigs at a store and go from there.
Have tied any jigs on 1/8 or 1/16th heads yet? Im looking for a source to get some small jigs for Rogue 1/2pounders.

Rustler,
Well the Sandy doesn't get to the point that everyone is landing fish, but it's usually always holding "freshies" pretty much anytime of year and some years are always better than others. Salmon runs in the fall are good. Right now the waters very low, a little off color but somewhat clear, and warm. Went 0 for 3 last night, so there's some action, but had a heck of a time finding it (can't say where I ended up, but let me tell you it was a hole I least expected to produce hits).

Live in Ashland, and fish the Rogue and Applegate. Even though the upper end of the Klamath River is not much more than a half hours drive south and the upper Sac about twice that ... not fished either.
