trip info

I am planning to travel the Northwest in march and am looking for the best place to get a guide and fish for steelhead. Sort of a spring break fishing trip. If you could go anywhere where would it be to catch the best steelhead in the country.

Best place would be the Smith River near Crescent City, Calif. March may be a little late in the run, although most runs are late this year. Most guides there are good and the fishing has been great over the last few years. Some 20+ lb fish have been caught. Have fun!

Where in the NW are you going? If the Seattle area's on your agenda, you might wanna try the Sauk or Skagit rivers for some big ol' natives. Rod Bush of River Otter Guide Services fishes these waters and is a good guy -- and guide. He has a website -- not sure of the exact URL, but if you go to a search engine, you should be able to find it. If not, give me a holler and I'll see what I can dig up. Good luck.
