Okay, I was just wondering what hunting method everybody out there uses. You can tell us why after you vote.

Primarily Handguns for deer. The rifle for elk. I won't make the mistake of taking my revolver into the woods to chase elk again for a while. I still have nightmares of missing that Bull a couple of seasons ago.

I've been kicking around doing the switch to flinging arrows. I'll be tagging along with friend this bow season to see if it's something I could get into.

I use a Thompson Contender pistol with a Super 14 inch 35 rem barrel for deer and a Ruger M77 stainless steel 308 win for elk.

Made the switch to Bow way back in 76 (YIKES!!) Back then though you could do all three. We would trophy hunt archery early, trophy hunt modern early and late and then archery hunt anything with fur. Those truely were the good ol' days, hunting for deer and elk started September 1 and continued almost continuous until the end of January for a 16 yr old with a brand new license it was awesome...girls? Who needed them!!

doc

have only used modern when we have made our Idaho hunts for Muleys since they made us choose.
