I just found out that I was picked for 2 Muzzleloader hunts in Oregon 1) Muzz. High Desert Elk # 278M 2) Muzz. E. Slope Antelope #477M
The Antelope hunt is new this year so I think I'm on my own on that one. The area is located North East of Crater Lake, in the Diamond Lake Junction area. The regs. say the goats live in the timber there. That hunt is in the begining of August.
My elk hunt area is huge units 67-71 and 73 It's in Mid- October. If any of you has any info that would be useful PLEASE send it my way. I am not drawn for tags very often and I really want to make the most of this great opptunity. Anything would be of help, Local O.F.W. local contacts, landowners, personal experience, suggested reading anything. I will gladly exchange hunting and fishing info about Idaho I have 15 years experience there.
Thank You, Happy hunting.

Way to go Fairchase! I have never hunted in Oregon but would suggest getting maps. Also alot of pre-season scouting trips. Remember, it never hurts to knock on a few doors and ask land owners permission to access their land. Ask around in the local sporting goods stores too.
Where abouts in Idaho do you hunt? I have hunted the Stanley area and up around Salmon.
