I hooked up on the first cast of the day but crackered off. I could not believe a 20# leader could snap so easily. I landed a 20# Nook on the last cast of the day.
Island 22 - there's a regional park in Chilliwack with rough camping and a launch. If you launch from lower on the river it's a bit harder to find, email me for directions. There are many many spots on this huge river, but like lemmings, we all seem to go to where there are other boats. Guys can be landing them above and below you all day on the same gear, same casts etc. This is like the Vegas slots, just keep on hitting until they pass your way
There are a lot of guys flossing. 2-3 oz bouncing betty's and 10'+ leaders. Some much longer than that. I'm guessing that some Columbia tactics would work, but have never seen/heard of anyone using them.
