STOP!! Take the Time to get those pesky rules you don't like changed... Time line is fairly short for proposals so lets get to writing.

Crap. Everytime I try to download the package, my computer locks up. It does not like that particular PDF file for some reason. GRRRRR....

I sent them my proposal for the year - I asked them to allow hatchery chinook retention in area 9. It opens for salmon sometime in July (don't know the exact date off the top of my head.) It's open but ALL Chinook must be released, there are some folks who fish CNR Kings there, why not allow hatchery King retention, since supposedly all state reared Kings are fin-clipped? My guess is that if retention were allowed the area might reeceive additional pressure resulting in increased mortality for wild kings bound for the "S" rivers, but I thought I'd bring my opinion to WDFW's attention.

Did anyone get any proposals in?
I sent in four proposals... One concerning the Sauk River, One concerning the Skagit River and Two concerning statewide suggestions.
Each addresses conservation issues and I will be hoping for support from everyone who values the future of wild steelhead when public comment becomes appropriate.

Mine had to do with salt water area 9, I asked for the retention of fin clipped Chinnook. Right now it is catch and release for all Chinook, why not allow retention of hatchery fish?

Yeah I felt my request was probably futile, but what the heck...

I think it was either Bret's or Bart's 'Old Pappy' who said, "If you are content to live in a pot that is never stirred... You will probably get burned."
At the very least, by submitting a proposal, attention is drawn to the issue and some dialog is likely to occur.
