Roosevelt report... new
      #67722 - 07/27/03 05:57 PM

Spent the last few days on Lake Roosevelt, near Fruitland/Hunters. The daytime temps were mid 90's, the surface water temp was close to 80 degrees, and the fishing was equally hot. The bad news is that the fish, walleyes and smallmouths, were all on the small side. Largest fish caught during our family reunion was a 1 1/2 pound smallmouth; trout were few and far in between. Anglers reported small fish being taken from five miles up the Spokane Arm to the Hunter's region on Lake Roosevelt. A large number of triploids were planted in Roosevelt this year, but they have apparently migrated thru this area, and are said to be holding in the lower regions of the lake. This is the first time in six years that fish wasn't on the reunion menu. The lake level seems to be about normal for this time of year. Any other Lake Roosevelt reports???
