Never seen one of these before... was on the makah reservation and there it is in the river. Tried to get a photo but the camera crapped out. A first for me and my biologist partner. She is investgating the possiblities of other heron species. A very rare bird in our parts for sure

yellow beak standing in the edge of the river... Sibley says it probably a egret (great white). Never seen one before so not positive about it.

That thing is still there? Just upstream from the bridge. Maybe it's a fake since it was in the exact same spot for 4 days. Well it may have moved a few feet. Didn't realize they were rare, because everything is rare to me over there. Did you spot the two pink flamingos up on the hill? I thought those were fake, but who knows now!!

that is the spot born... but it flew, so no faking the real deal.
The rarity is it is so far north, guess our warm weather brought it up with the pelicans.
