Just got over a bout with something bad... will be going out this week. Hope the crowds have thinned...

Yes they are but the rivers are still too low, we are suppose to be getting a few inches of rain this week here in the western GLs per my expert sources of information.
We will see. Hope you feel better, but it should make a difference if the chrome are running I have been there with the flu, sinus headaches, sprained ankles, etc... Don't miss the moment when the run is on.

Yep, its now 7X24 12 months of the year for me instead of only 11 months 7X24, thanks to the nice conversation I had last time out with an 86 year old Michigan steelhead fisherman. Yep he was 86 and still steelhead fishing !! He loves it, I told him he came from good genes. He is now retired in Georgia but comes back for the autumn run for a few weeks to see friends and fish for our beloved GLs steelhead. His son is a U.S. fishery biologist and he started michigan steelhead fishing back in the 1930s before they even knew they had steelhead running the Michigan rivers. The trout season then was from June to September when the steelhead were not in streams.
He gave me some good information that will now extend my GLs steelie fishing to 12 good months instead of only 11.
We had a real nice conversation and I did not even have to give him any flies. LOL
Its still raining, rained all night and today the rivers are on the rise and you know what that means !

They are not there yet per my human INTEL.
Going to hit the Indiana creeks this year, have not done that in years. Can't spey but have pulled out my 9.5 foot 10 weight fenwick glass fly rod I built in the early 80s to pull those brutes out of the log jams, sometimes successfully. LOL

Good luck, the rivers are on the rise again down here we just got heavily dumped on again as northern indiana and michigan are probably now. They have had 3-4 inches of rain there in the last week and more today. Rivers are on the rise again. End of week looks better right now.
Plus I have to go to work.
