hey. what is the best shot gun choke for ducks. i was useing a full and i was missing alot. so any help would be great.

Improved mod works well for me but in the late season I go to a full and even an extra full when they get decoy shy. I like the challenge too. What you blasting? Aix

I stick with the improved mod. It shoots 2 3/4" 2 shot 1 1/8 oz steel shells just fine for me.

Your not using steel? I haven't tried any of the new stuff as the prices are way to high and I've learned to do just fine with steel shot on birds over decoys. VW irregardless of what shot your using....go to improved choke and see if it makes a difference.

I only use steel cause I ran out of my good lead  Just kidding. Although I do miss the good old days. 4 shot lead was REAL deadly.

Bux at the end we was shooten a really nice 1 5/8 oz reload for Activ 2 3/4 shells...1440 fps  ....kicked like a mule  .

VW if your missed shots are at passing boids then I'd layoff that as that's near bad as flossing! I used to call them guys the "Quarter mile club." Learn to find the right spots and the right decoy setups....then shoot them when their flaps and landing gear are all down. As the season progresesses the boids get wiser but you only have to be wiser than them. Camo paint on face, hands, gun and a dang good blind and deke rig will get even the wisest boids. BTW Gooose = 5 shot 5 boid limits on Lake Terrel 1986 thru 1990. Wish I lived near there now.

well hey guys. i took your advice and threw in a differant choke and i went up to nisqually today and pulled out 5 birds. it was just crazy with ducks today. it was on for about an hour but then it got dead cause the ducks were flying so dang high.
