Hey Marty,
I am tinkering around with fretwork and intarsia. Fish patterns, of course! Why just wood carving in the forum title and not wood working?
I started my first intarsia with 2 simple dolphins and it turned out OK. Encouraging enough that I will work my way up to steelhead and salmon. 
Anyway, just a suggestion.

OK.... it isn't the greatest, and it isn't exactly a fish... but here is my first try at intarsia. One finished and one ready to finish.

thats cool... I have a wood box that has a rainbow trout on top. Kind of beat up but that same sort of thing. Nice work Aunty
