Friday morning a buddy and I went out and he got a nice chrome 8 lb hen. We think it was an unclipped hatchery fish so we had to let it go. Fished again today in the pooring rain and never had a bite.

First, I picked up a Don Hill mini drifter. That took the whole day Saturday since I went to Oregon.
I saw three boats today on the lower Sky/upper Snohomish and a walking duck hunter with two ducks. The Sky seemed to get more color later in the day, but it could have been my imagination. No fish today. I did see a few chums and a few other fish jump.

Drove up and fished with Gooose on Saturday. We got my kids into some chums and we didn't take any picts with there fish. We got some of them fighting the dogs. My 6 year old Daughter was yelling A got a whopper. My son landed 4 and then went rock hunting. All I can say is we had a great day. This was our first trip that far north so we drove up to Port Angeles had dinner then went back to the motel. We started back early because it was raining too much for the kids to fish. It sure is pretty up there. Thanks Again Gooose. Steve

Waded/drift fished Saturday. No steelhead, only a dark king for my efforts. Froze my butt off. Sunday morning, epic battle with a ~12 lb steelhead chromer wild male, landed and released. Went out again around 1:00 PM. Green coho, maybe 10 lbs. Hooked a big nasty darkish king. Breaks me off. Still freezing my butt off.
Go out again around 3:30 PM. First cast, Joe Dirt comes running out of the woods and yells "I have a 12 year old over here". "So?", I ask. "He's getting bites", exclaims Joe Dirt. "So?", I reply. "You have to be a 12 year old to get bites", says Joe. It must be a "Zen" thing I guess.
As I work my way downstream, I finally spot Joe Dirt and the rest of the Dirt family, upstream a little, fishing with bass rods and worms. No fish caught that I noticed but I wasn't knocking them dead either.
I said a small prayer for Joe, hoping someone in his family would marry up to white trash and improve the gene pool.

I was planning to go ut Saturday and chase some summer-runs, but I felt like crap Friday night and figured standing in the rain wouldn't be the smartest move.
So then Saturday, the weather was fine. I felt better and was really jonesing to fish, so after the forcast said the rain would start mid-morning Sunday I decided to go out around Shelton since it was close to home.
It was raing lightly this morning when we headed out. I was surprised to see major crowd factor at daylight. My buddy and I found a nice little stretch of water with no human population and started working it. We lit up about 20 chums and a couple silvers. Then it started pouring like a cow peeing on a flat rock. So we put in a couple hours and bailed. We hit up some java at Purdy Canyon on thw way home. Man, the little hottie serving drinks in there............impure thoughts.
Stopped for a big breakfast on the way home.........and got home in time to watch the end of the first NFL games on today.
Can't complain..........

Went zippola Saturday on the main stem Stilly. Fished the Cascade early this AM. Nothing but stale old silvers hanging around. Water was clear and very fishable. Moved down to Swift creek to see if any dogs were showing yet. No dogs, just a half dozen bug tossers standing arm pit deep trying to cast across the river. Moved down to Rockport and found some reasonably bright silvers to play with. Rained all day, river rose about a foot while we were there.

Fished a very long drift on Saturday with DesertDog. He caught two silvers and a few chum on a fly. I got a chum on eggs.
Fished a shorter drift today, again with Keith, and hooked another chum on eggs. Home by 12:15pm.
Not a lot of fish for me, but I had some good company. Got to hold my sick (24 hour flu) 4 year old for a few hours while we took a nap together. Is it bad to say you like it when your kids are sick? He is such a little pumkin' when he is sick, very agreeable, very sweet.
Overall, an excellent weekend.

Driftboat: Cj and myself were there on Sat, only two others were there, one in a pontoon and another driftboater that pulled his rig way upstream. Anyway we had our limits by 9:30am, all of our fish had sealice on them so they couldn't have been in the river long, nothing big maybe 15lbs max. To bad you weren't there we could have bantered back and forth all morning!

Saturday morning I hit the sky with my buddy. Saw a group of Japanese guys snag a really dark female chum, bonk it and then ask me what the fish was, and if it was good to eat. Hooked something about an hour later, and the tip of my rod snapped off - 2nd time in two weeks.
I left and went to find a new rod, because both mine are 12 years old. I put a new tip on the broken one for back up, and bought a new North X NW. I decided to test it out on the way back home. Found a spot where there wasn't a soul in site, and saw chums everywhere. Hooked a monster buck that put that new rod to the test - a good 20 minute fight. Caught two more, a male and female, all in good shape, but I let em'all go. Thanks for the tip on fishing with prawns ya'll.
